HPL Panel
High-pressure laminate, indoors or out.
HPL Panel from TSS Building Material Division is a compact high-pressure laminate built for both exterior façades and interior feature walls. Manufactured by fusing layers of kraft cellulose fibre with decorative surface papers under high heat and pressure, the result is a dense, dimensionally stable panel that performs reliably in demanding climates while holding crisp colour and pattern.
Engineered to EN 438, the panels combine a UV-stable decorative face with a hard, scratch-resistant surface that resists everyday wear, graffiti and weathering. An optional self-cleaning finish helps shed dirt and rainwater, keeping façades looking sharp with minimal maintenance across the life of the building.
Supplied across Europe, North America and beyond in 6 mm and 8 mm thicknesses and a 1220 × 2440 mm standard sheet, HPL Panel is available in solid colours, realistic wood and stone reproductions, and a choice of matt, gloss and textured finishes. It is a precise, versatile partner for ventilated rainscreen cladding, balconies, soffits, lockers, sanitary cubicles and furniture.

▸Exterior façades
Ventilated rainscreen cladding on commercial, residential and institutional buildings, fixed to aluminium or timber sub-frames.
▸Feature walls
Durable, high-impact interior wall linings for lobbies, corridors, retail and hospitality interiors.
▸Balconies & soffits
Weather-exposed balcony infills, fascias and undersides where moisture and UV resistance are essential.
▸Furniture
Worktops, vertical surfaces and shelving where a hard-wearing, hygienic decorative face is required.
▸Lockers & toilets
Sanitary cubicles, vanity units and lockers in schools, gyms and public buildings, resistant to moisture and cleaning chemicals.
▸Signage & wayfinding
Robust exterior and interior panels for entrance signs, plaques and directional graphics.
▸UV stable
A double-hardened acrylic/PUR surface keeps colours and patterns true under sustained sunlight and weathering.
▸Scratch resistant
A dense, abrasion-resistant face withstands knocks, foot traffic and intensive cleaning without marking.
▸Self-cleaning surface
An optional low-adhesion finish sheds dirt and rainwater, reducing façade cleaning and upkeep.
▸Indoor & outdoor
One material family covers exterior cladding and interior linings, simplifying specification and detailing.
▸Moisture stable
Low water absorption keeps panels dimensionally stable in humid and rain-exposed locations.
▸Impact & graffiti resistant
The hard surface resists graffiti, solvents and impact, making it suited to high-traffic public areas.
EN 438
Product standard for decorative high-pressure laminates (HPL) — defines compact-grade types, exterior (EDF/EGF) classifications and the full suite of performance tests.
EN 13501-1
Reaction-to-fire classification (Euroclass) for construction products; FR-grade panels are typically rated B-s2,d0.
EN 438-6
Specific requirements for exterior-grade compact laminates used in ventilated façade and cladding applications, including weathering performance.
CE marking
Declaration of conformity to the applicable harmonised European requirements for cladding panels placed on the EU/EEA market.
ISO 9001
Manufacturing quality-management system governing consistent production, traceability and batch control.
- ▸Acclimatise panels flat and stacked on site for 48–72 hours before fixing so they reach equilibrium with ambient conditions.
- ▸Fix to a ventilated sub-frame using either visible riveting/screwing or concealed undercut anchors, following the chosen system's fixing pattern.
- ▸Allow expansion clearance at fixing points and panel joints (typically 2–2.5 mm/m) to accommodate thermal and humidity movement.
- ▸Use one fixed point per panel with the remaining points sliding, so the panel can expand symmetrically.
- ▸Cut and drill with carbide- or diamond-tipped tooling and support the panel fully to achieve clean, chip-free edges.
- ▸Store horizontally on a flat, dry base with the protective film in place until installation is complete.

HPL Panel
questions.
Yes — exterior (EDF/EGF) weather-grade panels are engineered for façades and external exposure, while standard grades suit interior linings and furniture. We confirm the correct grade against your application.
FR-grade panels are typically classified B-s2,d0 to EN 13501-1, suitable for many façade and public-building requirements. The exact classification is stated on the test report supplied with each order.
They mount onto a ventilated rainscreen sub-frame in aluminium or treated timber, using either visible rivets/screws or concealed undercut anchors, always with expansion clearance designed into the joints.
Exterior-grade panels carry a UV-stable, double-hardened surface and are tested for light and weather fastness to EN 438-2, holding colour reliably over long-term outdoor exposure.
No — the low-adhesion finish sheds most dirt with rainfall. Occasional washing with water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent keeps the surface in good condition.
Standard panels are 6 mm and 8 mm in a 1220 × 2440 mm sheet. Larger formats and additional thicknesses can be produced to order for specific projects.
Each order includes a Technical Data Sheet, EN 438 and EN 13501-1 test reports, a CE Declaration of Performance, a product warranty and full export documentation for worldwide delivery.
